How London won the Olympics
On July 6 last year, David Magliano pulled off one of the biggest marketing coups of the decade when he helped to secure the 2012 Olympics for London.
He outlined his experience last Friday to marketers gathered at the West in Hotel, Dublin, as part of Marketing Network’s Intellectual Pioneer series.
For Magliano, the Olympic journey began in 2004 when he joined the bid team headed by former athlete and Conservative politician Sebastian Coe. Raising finance for London’s bid was Magliano’s first task.
