How creative thinking outside the box paid off

Cabinet-maker Karl Sweeny had to think outside the box when the bottom fell out of the bespoke furniture industry in Ireland six years ago.

**What he does:** bespoke box maker

**Why it works:** 'The cigar companies supply mass-produced humidors in Ireland, which sell for about €200. It's a very niche market, but there is a demand outside Ireland for hand-crafted humidors. I have a deal done where GlobalIrishGifts will take the boxes and store them in Galway and, when an order comes through, they will dispatch them.' *- Karl Sweeny*
