Housing recovery is at top of the property sector's agenda

Concerns about possible threats to the sustainability of Ireland’s economic growth prospects were highlighted at the Property Industry Ireland, writes Donal Buckley.

While signals are good for increased demand and strong growth in the value of property, Property Industry Ireland (PII) chairman Aidan O'Hogan warned last week that signs were also emerging that the recovery could be derailed by a lack of development and construction as well as unhelpful commercial and residential supply constraints. He called on the government to introduce a formal national property strategy to address the constraints and increase supply.
