Households could face Euro 600 in water charges

Households are facing annual water bills of up to €600 in the future due to the government's plan to make Irish Water self-financing, it has emerged.

The current proposed average charge of €240 per family is only possible because the government is providing €537 million of funding to Irish Water this year and again next year.
