Household charge: over half a million now registered

The number of properties registered to pay the household charged passed the half million mark this afternoon.

The number of properties registered to pay the household charged passed the half million mark this afternoon.

According to figures released by the Local Government Management Agency (LGMA), 467,357 registered for the charge as of 6 pm today. The figure does not include "approximately €7.2 million of postal applications" that are "on hand to be processed", according to the LGMA.

Including postal applications, over 500,000 households have now registered. The figures only represent a registration of 40,758...
