House prices continued to decline in 2011 but cash sales on houses are increasing, according to a survey by Chartered Surveyors Ireland.

It found that the value of a second-hand three-bedroom semi-detached house in Dublin declined by 12.6 per cent last year, compared to declines of 17.1 per cent in 2010 and 19.8 per cent in 2009.

"There's an increasing number of cash sales taking place," said Ed Carey of Chartered Surveyors Ireland.
