Maple Lodge in Killiney took its design cues from Art Deco architecture that its current owners saw abroad

Art Deco’s bold shapes and sharp, curved lines will be readily familiar to residents of cities such as Paris, Los Angeles and Lisbon, where cubist-inspired design abounds. The style popularised in France during the 1920s had less of a hold in Dublin, however – meaning that Maple Lodge, a striking detached residence on Killiney Road, stands out from the crowd in terms of architecture.
