Hoteliers optimistic about 2014 but debt a challenge

Hoteliers are optimistic about the tourism outlook but exceesive levels of outstanding debt remain a serious challenge for the sector, the Irish Hotels Federation said.

Hoteliers are optimistic about the tourism outlook but exceesive levels of outstanding debt remain a serious challenge, the Irish Hotels Federation said.

A survey, carried out in advance of its 76th annual conference which takes place today, found 83 per cent of hotels and guest houses were positive about the trading outlook compared to 51 per cent at this time last year.
