Hotelier John Fitzpatrick is poised to become the new chairman of the American Ireland Fund, after the former US economic envoy to Northern Ireland, Declan Kelly, and other contenders withdrew from the process, *The Sunday Business Post* has learned.

Fitzpatrick will be recommended to the board on March 18. He will replace Loretta Brennan Glucksman, who has been chairwoman since 1995.
