The large-scale influx of visitors expected by the hotel industry for Ryder Cup bookings next month has failed to materialise, according to industry sources.

Hotels that had block-booked rooms expecting visitors for the top golf competition have had to release them as they were not taken, according to the Irish Hotels Federation (IHF).
