Hospital waiting times have risen sharply since the present government took office, an analysis of figures show.

There are thousands more adults waiting longer than the internationally recognised target of six months for a planned hospital procedure. The number of those waiting this length for medical and surgical treatments is 40 per cent higher than it was when this government took office.
