Honohan upbeat on banks emerging from the wreckage

Panic over?

Perhaps. Central bank governor Patrick Honohan held out hopes for the Irish banking sector emerging from the wreckage of the financial crisis when unveiling the bank’s annual report last week.

Honohan, now almost a year into the job, went some way towards soothing the concerns still held towards local institutions by reiterating his upbeat assessment of ongoing attempts to repair bank balance sheets.
