Central bank Governor Patrick Honohan said it’s a “huge leap” to assume that Ireland will seek a second bailout even as borrowing costs rise.
“Plan A is still a good one,” Honohan said today. External factors are pushing up the cost of purchasing the country’s debt in secondary markets, he said, adding that he hopes market conditions will improve “in time.”
