Homing in on the Hamptons

The distinctive architecture of the Hamptons has served as inspiration for a Dublin-based window and door maker, writes Tina-Marie O'Neill.

Open plan living spaces, high ceilings, tasteful nautical colours, weathered exterior shingles and an upmarket beach house design have collectively made Hamptons-style homes globally popular. It's a trend that one Dublin-based window and door maker Fairco has tapped into, and anyone who visited the showhouse at this year's Ideal Homes Show exhibition in the RDS in Dublin last year will be familiar with it.
