I recently attended a talk about the business of food at the West Waterford Festival of Food in Dungarvan where one of the standout observations came from Eileen Dunne, who runs the successful Dunne & Crescenzi restaurant company.

She told the audience that in Italy there are celebration days throughout the year when various fruit and vegetables come into season.
