Holmes hopeful of regaining lost Meath council seat

Eoin Holmes freely admits that his party had a ''shite result in the Meath East by-election campaign last year. He finished in fifth place behind, among others, Sinn Fein and Direct Democracy Ireland, leading to serious questions about Tanaiste Eamon Gilmore's leadership and Labour's role in government.

But Holmes said that he quickly got over the bruising experience by going on holiday to Sicily with his family.
