Hogan to warn councils over action on home levies

The Minister for the Environment is to warn local authorities against pursuing homeowners for unpaid development contributions.

The Minister for the Environment is to warn local authorities against pursuing homeowners for unpaid development contributions.

A government source told *The Sunday Business Post* that the minister, Phil Hogan, "does not support" enforcement action against homeowners over unpaid levies in multi-unit developments.

The source said the minister believed that the "developer, and not the homeowner" should be pursued for outstanding charges.
