UPDATE: The High Court has refused to declare that multiple sclerosis sufferer Marie Fleming has a right to be helped to die.

The High Court has refused to declare that multiple sclerosis sufferer Marie Fleming has a right to be helped to die.

Fleming, 59, had asked the High Court to let a doctor help her to commit suicide, rather than die gradually from her progressive disease. Alternatively she asked the court to require the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to set out the reasons why a person might be prosecuted for helping her to die.
