One of the most gifted young comedians of her generation, Cobh-born Maeve Higgins has inked a distinctive stamp on Irish comedy, cycling around subjects from dating to emigration in daft, sneakily deft fashion, trundling out a style of bumbling deflection which works surprisingly well to make audiences laugh, and press home some razor-sharp points about the idiosyncrasies of modern life in Ireland.
