The competing blocs of Fianna Fail-Progressive Democrats and Fine Gael-Labour-Greens offer no real choice to working-class people because they share the same economic policies, Socialist Party leader Joe Higgins told his party’s annual conference yesterday.

‘‘All they fight over, in reality, is which cabal should have its hands on the loot,” Higgins told the party’s gathering in Maynooth, Co Kildare.
