Former Irish rugby player Denis Hickie is putting himself at loggerheads with his former IRFU employers by pushing for a ban on alcohol sponsorship.
The stalled plan to phase out alcohol sponsorship of sport by 2020 is being opposed by the IRFU as well as the GAA and the FAI. The IRFU says the sponsorship generates €9 million annually.
