Hibernia College, the private Dublin teacher-training institute, had accumulated losses of over €2,850,000 last year, according to recently-filed accounts.

Hibernia College, the private Dublin teacher-training institute, had accumulated losses of over €2,850,000 last year, according to recently-filed accounts.

Questions had been raised about the college's ability to trade in 2003 when it received authorisation from the Department of Education for its training courses. At that time auditors had expressed concerns about the college's future financial prospects. Its last accounts, filed in 2003, show that the college had accumulated losses of €1.7 million.
