Helicopter crash probe leads to seven safety recommendations

The Air Accident Investigation Unit (AAIU) has issued seven safety recommendations following an incident last June when an Air Corps helicopter hit electricity wires and made a forced landing.

The Air Accident Investigation Unit (AAIU) has issued seven safety recommendations following an incident last June when an Air Corps helicopter hit electricity wires and made a forced landing.

The helicopter was acting as an air ambulance and had to collect a patient from an ambulance near Borrisoleigh, Co Tipperary, to transfer him to Limerick Regional Hospital.
