Guinness remains Ireland’s best-known sponsor but, thanks to its Green Energy music festival and rugby activities, Heineken pipped the stout brand to be named the best-recalled sponsor among 15 to 24-year-olds last year.

Research conducted by Onside Consultants showed that Guinness’s sponsorship of the GAA All-Ireland hurling championships topped the overall consumer research poll for most appealing partnership of last year with 15 per cent of all mentions.
