Health lobby group urges swift naming of director

The lobby group Mental Health Reform has called on the health minister to expedite the appointment of a national director for mental health.

The lobby group Mental Health Reform has called on the health minister to expedite the appointment of a national director for mental health.

Orla Barry, director of Mental Health Reform, dismissed claims that the radical structural change proposed for the health service was hindering the appointment.

"That should not be a barrier to the appointment of a director," she said.
