Health Information Quality Authority to carry out hospital spot checks

Hospitals throughout the country will be the targets of a series of unannounced spot checks by the Health Information Quality Authority (Hiqa). The reports on individual hospitals will be published by the health watchdog on its website.

Hospitals throughout the country will be the targets of a series of unannounced spot checks by the Health Information Quality Authority (Hiqa). The reports on individual hospitals will be published by the health watchdog on its website.

Hiqa carried out hygiene audits over a six-week period that began last month - giving the 50 acute hospitals surveyed time to prepare for the one-off audits.
