Minister of State Brian Hayes has warned that some lawyers see a new law to help building sub-contractors get paid as a lucrative cottage industry'.

It was introduced to to ensure that small sub-contractors in future are paid on time by construction companies by allowing for independent adjudication.

But Hayes warned that there were a lot of legal firms who had lost income from the decline in conveyances and now saw the Construction Contracts Act...
