Hayes hopes for progress on promissory notes

Junior minister Brian Hayes said he hopes the Government will make progress this year on its campaign to restructure about €30 billion of promissory notes used to rescue Anglo Irish Bank.

Department of Finance junior minister Brian Hayes said he hopes the Government will make progress this year on its campaign to restructure about €30 billion of promissory notes used to rescue Anglo Irish Bank.

“I hope we can make progress on it this year,” Hayes, said in an interview with RTÉ. He said the Government is “working hard” on the issue as the troika bailout partners prepars a technical paper on the notes....
