The directors of a hardware business where workers won a Lotto jackpot were not entitled to a €700,000 insurance payout after their business burned down, the High Court has found.

The directors of a hardware business where workers won a Lotto jackpot were not entitled to a €700,000 insurance payout after their business burned down, the High Court has found.

Gerry and Ailish Bredin of Ennis, Co Clare, leased a shop to their company, Gerry Bredin Hardware Ltd. A fire in November 2007 - the second in two months - severely damaged the building, and the stock and fittings were destroyed.
