A US start-up co-founded by Irish entrepreneur Oisin Hanrahan raised more than $10 million (Euro 7 million) in venture capital last week. Hanrahan, a 28-year-old Trinity College graduate, is behind Handybook which announced last Tuesday that it had raised $10 million in a new round of investment led by General Catalyst Partners and Highland Capital Partners.

Launched last June, the company has found success with an online platform which allows users to book pre-approved cleaners and handy workers....
