The Garda Ombudsman has criticised the Garda investigation into the death of a taxi driver as “inadequate and poorly conducted”.

Steve Gray had been dropping off passengers from his mini-bus taxi in the Inishowen Peninsula in Donegal. After he got out to help them alight from the taxi, he was struck by a van driven by a learner driver and thrown approximately 45 feet into a nearby field.
