Greenstar acquires Sligo waste company with €3.3m turnover

Waste-management company Greenstar has acquired Sligo waste company WDS, the county's largest operator, for an undisclosed price.

Waste-management company Greenstar has acquired Sligo waste company WDS, the county's largest operator, for an undisclosed price.

WDS, which manages about 20,000 tonnes of waste a year, has turnover of €3.3 million. The deal will give Greenstar access to a new waste transfer station, built by WDS, that is licensed by the Environmental Protection Agency to handle 100,000 tonnes of waste a year.
