Green Party minister Eamon Ryan has warned against ‘‘jumping to decisions’’ on further cutbacks and savings for next year beyond the €3 billion already approved by government.

Green Party minister Eamon Ryan has warned against ‘‘jumping to decisions’’ on further cutbacks and savings for next year beyond the €3 billion already approved by government.

The Minister for Finance, Brian Lenihan, and Taoiseach, Brian Cowen, have both admitted the need for further public spending cuts and savings on the back of the banking crisis.

Ryan said further adjustments beyond the €3 billion parameters for 2011 had not been agreed...
