Greens to push for carbon tax in December budget

Energy minister Eamon Ryan and his Green Party colleague John Gormley, the Minister for the Environment, are pushing for a carbon tax to be introduced in the budget in December.

The two ministers are increasing pressure at cabinet level for the levy to be included in the budget to support Ireland’s commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
