Greencore site ‘inappropriate’ for plant

A bio-ethanol plant on the site of Greencore’s former sugar site in Mallow would be ‘‘inappropriate’’, according to a report by the Cork county manager. The news is a set back for local farmers and some former workers who had objected to plans by Greencore management to redevelop the site as a €500 million residential, enterprise and leisure project.
