Family-owned Codd Mushrooms has invested €5.5 million to expand its business and build an environmentally friendly production unit.

Based in Tullow, Co Carlow, the mushroom producer packs 45 per cent of all mushrooms sold in Ireland. Its products include closed cup, oyster and shiitake varieties.

Started in 2008 - when it built a 1.75-acre production plant over eight months - Codd Mushrooms will complete its €5.5 million green investment programme at the end of this month.
