Greeks opposed to more wage cuts and austerity staged their second general strike in three weeks as prime minister Antonis Samaras prepares to attend his first European Union summit to lobby for a two-year extension of the country’s bailout target.

Schools, hospitals, ferries and government services will be shut, while a three-hour walkout by air traffic controllers will disrupt flights around the country.
