Builders providers group Grafton saw a big jump in profitability during the six months of the year, driven in part by improvements in the Irish market.

Profit before tax was up more than 280 per cent from 24.5 million in the first six months of 2012 to 68.4 million in the same period this year, the company said in a statement. Revenue was up 1.7 per cent to €1.072 billion during the period.
