Grafton chairman pledges more shares

Grafton Group executive chairman Michael Chadwick has pledged shares in the building materials and DIY company worth more than €6 million as security for borrowings.

Grafton Group executive chairman Michael Chadwick has pledged shares in the building materials and DIY company worth more than €6 million as security for borrowings.

The move, which was disclosed last week, means Chadwick has now granted security over Grafton shares worth more than €40 million.

Grafton told the stock exchange that Chadwick, who owns 8.5 per cent of the company, had granted security over 18.5 million of the 19.5 million Grafton shares he owns.
