Government to draft legislation on abortion

The Government is to introduce legislation with regulations to deal with the abortion issue, it announced this afternoon following a cabinet meeting.

"We will not preempt the debate that must follow by speculating on details to be decided later in the process,” said health minister James Reilly.

The Government is to introduce legislation with regulations to deal with the abortion issue, it announced this afternoon following a cabinet meeting.

It said that this approach was “the most appropriate method for dealing with the issue” and that it would implement judgement of the European Court of Human Rights in A,B and C v Ireland case.
