Government to consider cut in rape age limit

The Law Reform Commission, which advises the government on changes to the law, has called for the age limit for statutory rape to be reduced from 14 to 12.

The Law Reform Commission, which advises the government on changes to the law, has called for the age limit for statutory rape to be reduced from 14 to 12.

The call comes in the commission’s report on child sexual abuse, which will be considered by the cabinet this week.
