The sector comprises over 1,000 companies across an array of diverse industries, ranging from leading technology multinationals to indigenous start-ups to telecoms companies. Over 90,000 people are currently employed in the ICT sector in Ireland, which accounts for 36 per cent of total exports of goods and services.
