Government sets up Residential Institutions Statutory Fund

The Government has set up a new body - the Residential Institutions Statutory Fund - to oversee the €110 million for 15,000 survivors of institutional child abuse.

The Government has set up a new body - the Residential Institutions Statutory Fund (RISF) - to oversee the €110 million for 15,000 survivors of institutional child abuse.

The fund is to be established next Monday, the 25th of March. The Minister for Education and Skills, Ruairí Quinn, has announced Mary Higgins as the RISF's chief executive.
