Satisfaction with the government has slumped since last October, a poll conducted for the Irish Times by IPSOS/MRBI has found.

Satisfaction with the government has dropped 14 points to 23 per cent, according to the poll carried out on Monday and Tuesday (when debate was raging over the planned introduction of water meters).

Party support figures also showed declines for Fine Gael
