Government plans to introduce smart electricity and gas meters have moved up a gear. Consultants are being sought to conduct a cost-benefit analysis for the national introduction of smart meters, according to tender documents.
The Commission for Energy Regulation (Cer) has sought tenders for the consultancy work, which will include a review and validation of the cost assumptions used in a previous analysis of a national introduction of electricity and gas smart-metering.
