Government nixes Revenue plan to hire more inspectors

The government has rejected a plan by the Revenue Commissioners to recover an extra €100 million per year from tax evaders by hiring extra tax inspectors.

The Revenue proposed hiring 125 extra auditors at a cost of €6.5 million in salaries.
