The government is facing a legal challenge over new public sector construction contracts, which building industry chiefs say are in breach of EU directives.
The Construction Industry Federation (CIF) executive will make a formal complaint to the European Commission in the next four weeks. If the complaint is upheld, the case will proceed to the European Court of Justice.
The federation believe the contracts will cause ‘‘widespread difficulties’’ for small and medium-sized contracting companies....
