The possibility of merging Coillte and Bord na Móna is under "active consideration" by government, the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform has confirmed.

The possibility of merging Coillte and Bord na Móna is under "active consideration" by government, the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform has confirmed.

The option is included in a report from NewERA, which is expected to form part of a cabinet discussion on the future of Coillte this week. The report also includes the prospect of a joint venture biomass power business between the two companies.
