Google.ie users hit by outage
Google users in Ireland have experienced difficulties accessing the Google.ie search page this afternoon. Some reports suggested the cause may have been malicious.
Google users in Ireland have experienced difficulties accessing the Google.ie search page this afternoon.
The website is back up after suffering an outage earlier today. Newstalk reported Google sources as saying that they were aware of an issue but were unable to comment further.
Technology blog website Technology.ie reported that the website outage may have been caused by a malicious hijacking of its address for a brief time.
