Search giant Google, which has said it cannot find qualified staff in Ireland because of ‘‘dumbing down’’ in the education system, routed almost half of its global revenues through its Irish operations last year.

Google Ireland, based in Barrow Street in Dublin, had revenues of €5.3 billion last year, up from €3.3 billion in 2006, making it one of the biggest companies in the country in revenue terms. Google’s total revenues...
